Born in Doncaster and having gone through an ‘interesting’ childhood, I spent 6 years living and travelling around the former eastern block, the majority of my time spent as a youth worker in Hungary.  Out of necessity I started my own small graphic design business producing mtraining materials and flyers for youth events.  Out of popularity the business grew and I ended up producing work for others including the A.O.G.  National youth organisation of Hungary and the ICI University Hungary.
After returning to the UK I worked for Volkswagen Financial Services developing in house applications and also took on responsibility for re-designing the company newsletter.  After two years at Volkswagen I joined Business Management Software working on HR Software for the US marketplace.  Soon after starting there we were bought out by ADP the largest Payroll company in the USA with offices worldwide, after a few years working on the established application I moved onto another core product which we developed as part of the Microsoft Office Small Business Edition.

2006 saw me relocate from Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire UK up to North Staffordshire and it was here that I joined ALG Software as an ASP .Net developer.  We were bought at the end of 2006 by Business Objects who themselves were bought in 2008 by SAP.

Over the past few years I’ve broadened my scope by learning AJAX and currently Ruby & Ruby on Rails.

This blog is partly about passing on tidbits I learn along the way as well as sharing as much of the cool, funny and interesting stuff I have found from others or while browsing through RSS feeds.

I life in North Staffordshire with my wife Sue, I have an adiction to caffeine and I can often be found online in either Battlefield 2142 (StaticVenom/Dr.Void), Team Fortress 2 (StaticVenom) or Enemy Territory Quake wars (Dr.Void).
