I’m not well. Both physically and mentally I think!
You may be aware of the new G1 phone recently released (in th UK not sure about TROTW). A couple of my buddies got hold of one each recently and I’ve been having a play with one on and off. I have to say iwas always itching for something like this, I had put myself on the list for the new open moko phone a while back but the cost was stupid.
Up to now I have managed perfectly well with a pay as you go phone and handset kindly donated by a good friend of mine. However, in a moment of weakness I have given in, I have decided to go contract and get a G1. It is an impressive phone, and the package is reasonable too £15 for the base package, giving 100 mins of calls and 200 texts inclusive, then web n walk plus for unlimited web on the mobile.
If you are self employed or run a business you can also get free extras like free itemised billing, better voicemail, conferencing, reduced roaming charges and next day replacement if the phone dies. Apparently you need some business credentials when you call, don’t know what they are yet.
The phone is very responsive and it seems to be very easy to extend with applications from the andriod store all of which are currently free and seem to be good quality overall. Some are demo’s awaiting the ability to charge, which is being added to the storefront soon.
I have not used the phone much since getting it because I have not been feeling too good with a cold donated by one of my work colleagues, delivered via the air-con no doubt.
Anyhow, if you are in the market for a new phone the G1 should be on the list. You can even write posts to your wordpress blog using it!
