Valve released a statement on Monday giving details of the sequal to the best selling Left 4 Dead that released last year. Left 4 Dead is an all action Zombie shooter with several twists that have had gamers raving for some time now. You can play in solo mode with 3 AI characters to support you, or LAN up and have your mates join in the carnage with AI taking up the spare seats.

The action is unrelenting but the graphics and gameplay leave you having about as much fun as you can have in a game. You play throught the story in a kind of movie fashion and the AI Director in the game controls things like weather objects and pathways as well as tailoring the enemy population to each situation. Each game ends up being tailored to your skill level, something that allows everyone to get a fantastic experience. As with most things on the STEAM network, you have a set of achievements to reach and the online play allows you to step into the rotting carcass of a zombie and play the bad guy :0)

Gabe Newell said in the press release:

A large part of how Left 4 Dead became 2008’s top-selling new IP on Xbox 360 and the PC was the custom-tailored gameplay made possible by the AI Director, With the knowledge gained from creating the original, new technology, and a passionate team, L4D2 will set a new benchmark for cooperative action games.

Left 4 Dead 2 is set to improve on this awesome game and should release on PC and Xbox 360 on Nov 17th 2009. Look out for cover features on PC Gamer and Xbox 360 magazines this month.
