Craig Cook has written an excellent article over on A list apart titled ‘How to Grok Web Standards’ and it’s a refreshingly inspiring and alternative viewpoint on understanding and embracing web standards.

Craig’s approach is to split the development down into three separate thought processes: Writer, Engineer and Artist, then learn to meld these together smartly to get the designer.

It’s a great article and I strongly reccomend it as a must read.
