Amateur Photographer magazine have produce a handy little card detailing UK Photographers rights that you can print off and keep in your kit bag.
Why would you need this?
Well, if you haven’t already heard about the many cases of photographers being stopped by law enforcement officers in the UK then take a look at the Amateur Photographer website from time to time and you’ll be able to read about the many different cases that have already been made public.
There’s a lot of confusion amongst photographers and law enforcement officers regarding what exactly photographers can and cannot photograph. Current anti terror laws have not helped the situation at all.
Amateur Photographer and the I’m a photographer not a terrorist campaign have been working hard to try and re-educate all involved so that we as photographers can enjoy our hobby, or our profession if you are lucky enough, without fear of being stopped and searched by law enforcement officers simply because you are taking photo’s in a public place.
